Just as Human

I have recently been watching Pinoy Big Brother Double Up because of the quite stir that it's making in my everyday environment - the commute to work (especially in the trains), the patients, the nurses and other employees - even my husband got hooked.

I especially like this episode when Sharon Cuneta went in to bring the housemates food.

Note that in 5:30, Sharon begins to gradually sweat until a stream is visible on her upper chest. It's not a very pretty sight, but it happens. Some people just get sweaty when they are in a stressful situation, especially when the spotlight is on him or her. For Sharon, being the center of attention may come as second nature, but this is a different environment. The housemates are almost celebrities in their own light, but at the same time are very starstruck fans who can't help but scrutinize her.

For me, the spotlight thing happened when I promised God, in front of friends and family, that I'd spend the rest of my life with Noy. But of course.

3 o)recessional (6)

Isn't it comforting to realize that celebrities, even someone as big as Sharon (pun not intended) are just as human as you and me?

Happy birthday to me!

It won't be until 3 months though. BUT it does feels like it, because the kind husband approved the purchase of this sleek lovely baby sitting on my desk right now.

It's loaded with features, it's stylish, it's lightweight and affordable. It's got everything I need and fits my budget just fine.
Im no tech blogger but I'm quite sure all knowledgeable people out there would agree that it's the best notebook in its range for the price.

I am super enjoying this early birthday gift =)

Goodbye, Fishy Meat! Hello, Colored Cuts!

We passed by Play and Display a few days back after watching Avatar and found this on sale -

At Php 990 (around USD 22), it's a bit pricey for a cutting board. Actually, it's a set of four cutting boards. Color-coded cutting boards! Red for meat, blue for fish, green for vegetables, and white for bread. They store like files in an office in a stylish silver stand. Soo cute!

I'm buying it more for the health benefits than the extra eye candy my little kitchen counter would get. First, my bread or veggies won't get salmonella from the meats. Second, my food won't smell like anything they are not. Don't you just hate when your salad greens and veggies smell and taste like raw fish or meat, even if you've washed the old cutting board in hot water three times before slicing them? Lastly, it will save me time, water and dishwashing liquid because now I don't have to wash the old cutting board every now and then just to slice a few different items.

Now if only there's a nice set of gorgeous knives on sale to complement this cool kitchen experience...

Wonderful Wedding Weekend Part 3: Of Enting's and Sweet Endings

When we first came to Bacolod City in early 2008, my friend Annabee treated us to lunch at Ping-ping's. But before we even got there, the cab driver pulled us up at Enting's. Annabee argued Ping-ping's is a better place, so off we went. We forgot all about Enting's until hunger took us walking a few steps away from L' Fisher to - guess what? Enting's.

It's the typical seafood grill place - big fresh juicy seafood, cooked any way you like and ALWAYS ending up being the best anyone's ever tasted - but the price is so.much.cheaper. Nuff said.

Foodie Foursome: with Lizza & Pat, and what's left of the first wave of our Enting's lunch. Pat took the photos of chicken inasal & scallops.

When we've explored the hotel thoroughly enough, we crossed the street to Calea, Bacolod's most popular coffee and cake place. I loved the fact that Noy and I are in a group, so we got to taste a lot of their cakes. I thought the cakes looked too sweet for me (I don't like anything very sweet) but after the first bite of my tiramisu I stopped stereotyping.

After the first bite of Lizza's white chocolate cheesecake in strawberry syrup , I ordered myself to stop hating that other girl guest who looked at my cleavage in the elevator like the hotel was enormous we won't see each other again.

After the first bite at Noy's chocolate ice cream cake I declared myself happy, content, and in peace.

The Calea experience won't be complete though, as they say, without having a taste of their signature chocolate cake. It's thick and fluffy and had generous chewy light chocolate sauce in between its layers.

Here are more Calea favorite treats - blueberry cheesecake and cafe latte. Heartwarming =)

The next day I shared the happiness with Annabee, who was recovering from pneumonia at the Riverside Hospital. Talk about bad timing.

The Calea muffins I never got to taste, but happily gave to a sick friend.

Bad timing apparently doesn't exist at the whole Mel & Rhea wedding thing. The exciting vehicle that took us to La Salle picked us up at 1 pm and delivered us safely to the Silay Airport 3 hours before departure.

The new Silay Airport is like a mini-Terminal 3. It's clean, it's modern, it's sleek, it's bright, and has wide parking spaces.

I love the banig detail on the walls. So creative.

The predep area seems that it's got as much food/snack choices as that in the bigger airports. Plus other services too.

It's clean and spacious. The seats are comfortable. The toilets aren't bad either.

The seats really are comfortable.

The entire second floor of the airport has a nice sweeping view of a mountain and the ricefields surrounding it.

Again, we love PAL =)

Econolight!

Cheers Rhea & Mel! We had a wickedly wonderful weekend!
